Farm Machinery | Farm Implements
Background

Late Dilip Sinh Rana thoughtfully developed thpaddy thresher, where the stalk of the paddy does not get broken during the threshing process.

Dilip Sinh’s family originally belongs to Unchedia village of Bharuch but he had to shift to his father in law’s place after his marriage in 1974, as his father in law did not have anybody to help him in his work. He completed his education till class tenth and then started his diploma in mechanical engineering but unfortunately had to drop out in the first year itself. Since then he had been involved in farming until his untimely demise in March 2006.

Hand Driven Sprayer

Farm Machinery
The innovation uses the circular motion of the wheels of a hand driven cart to drive the piston of the sprayer. The hand driven cart uses the wheels of a bicycle to reduce friction and weight.

Vanraj 10 HP Small Tractor

Farm Machinery
Despite the increasing cost of cultivation and reduction in size of land holding, the market is flooded with costly high power large size tractors suitable for use in large land holding only, To get rid of the problems, Shri Bhanjibhai Mathukia, innovative farmer from village Kalawad of Junagadh district has developed small three and four wheel tractor. It is ideal for small farmers due to its cost effectiveness, easy maneuverability and simplicity in design. Click Here for More Details

Cotton Stripper Machine

Farm Machinery

A variety of cotton, Kalyan (V-797) - known as "Kala Kapaas", grown in semi - arid regions of Gujarat has a very tedious post-harvesting process of removing the lint (Cotton fiber with seeds) from the shells of the cotton balls.. This process was done manually where women folk do the job with hands by breaking the pods and separating cotton from it. This machine eradicates this drudgery and the work can be carried out more efficiently.

The innovator of the device, Sh. Mansukhbhai Patel, is a self trained electrical engineer, having keen interest in electrical and mechanical appliances. His sensitivity towards poor and the underprivileged can be gauged by his innovation Cotton Stripper.

Kushal Mini Sprayer

Farm Machinery

Today, most of the sprayers that are available in the market are of a 16-litre capacity and priced at more than Rs.1, 000/- per unit. These are very heavy for the women folk and the capacity is in excess with respect to small farm and nurseries. These are not suited for farmers with small land holdings, as the sprayer capacity is not fully utilised.

Khimji Bhai Kanadia, a teacher by training and an innovator has developed a small 5-lit capacity, low cost sprayer, which is easy to operate and suitable for small farmers.

Bicycle Sprayer

Farm Machinery

The unique device essentially uses the circular motions of the cycle sprocket to move the piston of the spray pump which generates pressure to spray the pesticides. The front and rear sprockets of a thrown away bicycle are interchanged and the small sprocket is connected to the piston pump, so as the circular motion is converted to reciprocating motion of the piston and thus the pressure is generated and thus the pesticides are sprayed on the field.

The innovator of the Bicycle Sprayer, Sh. Mansukhbhai Jagani, has undergone formal studies up to Class 5th. He worked for couple of years in a diamond processing unit before he set up a small workshop in his native village. His creative thought process led him to develop many innovative farm implements like motorcycle driven ploughing machine, a multipurpose tool bar for agriculture
