Today, most of the sprayers that are available in the market are of a 16-litre capacity and priced at more than Rs.1, 000/- per unit. These are very heavy for the women folk and the capacity is in excess with respect to small farm and nurseries. These are not suited for farmers with small land holdings, as the sprayer capacity is not fully utilised.

Khimji Bhai Kanadia, a teacher by training and an innovator has developed a small 5-lit capacity, low cost sprayer, which is easy to operate and suitable for small farmers.
