The innovation uses the circular motion of the wheels of a hand driven cart to drive the piston of the sprayer. The hand driven cart uses the wheels of a bicycle to reduce friction and weight.

About Gopalbhai:
Gopalbhai is a farmer by profession and invented the sprayer because he himself was facing the problem of labour shortage and inconvenience with conventional sprayer. He started working on this idea in 1997 amidst opposition from his family members. A number of the neighboring farmers borrow his pump as they are belt o see the benefits and cost savings.

GIAN has already transferred the technology, though on a non-exclusive basis, to an entrepreneur from Ahmedabad for Marketing and Manufacturing in the whole of India.
